Marc Marchand
Director of Recreation and Lifelong Learning for the City of Burleson

When Parks & Recreation Director Peter Krause retired Jan. 29, 2016, Burleson City Manager Dale Cheatham combined Parks & Recreation and the Burleson Public Library under one umbrella – the Recreation & Lifelong Learning Department. Marc Marchand, who has served as the director of the Burleson Public Library for more than two years, will serve as director of the new department. The Recreation & Lifelong Learning department’s focus on programs for lifelong learning, community engagement, quality spaces for free play and athletic experiences, as well as ensuring the best use of community resources through continuous process improvement, will be accomplished through some minor adjustments to the organizational structure using existing talent. Marc Marchand will be be updating us on what is happening with regard to recreation and lifelong learning here in Burleson.

“There are so many exciting things happening in Burleson, thanks to citizen involvement and community leadership,” Marchand said. “It is a humbling and profound honor to have the opportunity to serve our community, this team, and to be a part of all that we are doing together.”
