What You Don't Know About Reverse Mortgages
May 29, 2018 12:00 PM
For most people, their home is the largest personal financial investment they will ever make. Many folks will spend decades paying off their mortgage, never realizing they could tap the equity they’ve built up in their homes to help make their golden years more enjoyable. This is done through a reverse mortgage, which is available to homeowners who are at least 62 years old. The loan taps your home’s equity, and the bank gives you the money either as a lump sum, a line of credit or a monthly draw. According to Norman Williams, President of Senior Reverse Mortgage Services, Inc., who took out a reverse mortgage on his own home, there are false and misleading misconceptions being told about reverse mortgages. In his talk, “What You Don't Know About Reverse Mortgages," your members will learn:

Jun 12, 2018 12:00 PM

So you pay an accountant to do your taxes, but rather than paying an estate attorney, you decide to do your will yourself by downloading a form off the internet. According to estate planning and probate attorney Ross Tew, that’s a decision that could be life-altering for your loved ones – and not in a good way. In his talk, “What the Internet Doesn’t Tell You About Estate Planning,” Ross will help to dispel online myths about trusts, probate and guardianship, including:

Center For ASD
Aug 28, 2018
Lisa is the Director and founder of the center for ASD. The Center for ASD (Achieving Self Development), a 501c3 non profit organization, was founded in 2009. We were founded due to my youngest son being diagnosed with Autism. It did not take long for my family to figure out if you make too much money you don't qualify for assistance but if you don't make enough you cant pay for things insurance doesn't pay for. I couldn't stand by and watch families have to make tough choices. In 2009 we started with a yearly fundraiser to grant families money. After a few years we moved to hosting quarterly family fellowships and a Christmas party. In 2012 we started a week long summer KAMP for kids with ALL special needs and their siblings and a weekly Monday night gathering. We are now a full time program for participants of any age with any disability, we also run 3 evenings a week and have programs in Crowley, Burleson and Cleburne - we also include siblings and volunteers of all ages to come in and spend time with our participants. The growth is amazing. We take pride in the fact we are the only resource of its kind anywhere that we know of. We provide programs and support for free or low cost and for families that need financial assistance we ALWAYS offer it. No one gets turned away EVER. For more information, please reach out to Lisa at: Lisa@centerforasd.org |
